Jordan
Receptionist
Jordan brings with her a strong customer service background by managing restaurants and working in tech start ups as well as the Perot Museum in Dallas TX. Her vibrant personality and ability to keep things organized are her strong points. She is often the first smile that you will see when you enter our hospital. She was born and raised in Houston Texas and comes from a long line of animal rehabbers and rescuers. Growing up with multiple dogs, cats, snakes, turtles, parrots and an occasional raccoon, opossum, duck or bird started her love for all living things.
For many years, before she met the love of her life, she wrote, sang and recorded music for her own band. She built her own music studio where she recorded her own EP. She shares her home with a Swiss mountain dog, Pollo, Tibetan terrier, Cooper, a Greek tortoise named Grootie, a Bearded Dragon named Gordito and 4 fresh water fish. She shares her little animal kingdom with her husband and three kids.

Shawn
Receptionist
Shawn is a native Texan with lifelong ties to Round Rock. Her love of animals comes from being raised with many dogs and cats, and spending summers with her grandparents and their sheep, goats, and chickens. She has moved and lived all over, taking full ownership of a gypsy soul. As a veterinary receptionist, her joy comes from building relationships with the clients and their loved ones. She enjoys the teamwork with her coworkers, and can never get enough of all the fur-babies. Outside of work at the hospital, Shawn is also an artist, with pet portraits being one of her main staples. When not at work, or painting, she enjoys geeky stuff, arts and crafts, books, and music of all kinds. Shawn shares her home with her husband Keith, dachshund Lolli, Chiweenie Tula, and fluff ball cat Frankie.

Carissa
Technician
I started working with animals when I was 22, and have helped out in all areas of the hospital. From working in the kennel to being a technician, and helping out at reception and inventory manager. I had my daughter in 2011 and decided to stay at home with her. Once she started preschool, I went back to taking care of animals again through walking and pet sitting, and now back to being a technician. I even helped out with horses for a while. I absolutely adore being around animals and definitely missed my time away. One of my favorite things about my job is being able to help calm a nervous pet, and hopefully, make them feel more comfortable during their visit.
When I’m not working with animals, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, and staying active. I love watching scary movies and true crime shows. Yoga and Pilates are some of my favorite ways to exercise, and taking my pups on a hike around my neighborhood. Hawaii is a favorite travel destination for my family. My husband and I were married there in 2007, and I’ve been lucky enough to travel back several times. My daughter is named after the beach we were married at, Makena Beach. Hawaii is definitely my happy place and I would love to live there someday!

Brittney
Technician
Brittney is new to Texas after leaving behind the sunny beaches in San Diego for a more quiet and more independent life in the Texas Hill Country. She’s worked in animal medicine since her senior year in high school, starting as an intern. She eventually worked her way to Technician Manager before seeking a better life outside California. With a strong love for all animals, domestic and exotic she spent much of her free time as a child and adult at the “World Famous” San Diego Zoo and Safari Park. She has a sweet spot for the little Chihuahuas and Doxies.
When not spending time with animals she is an avid gamer who then turns gameplay into a video for YouTube and Twitch. Brittney has been a huge football fan since the days of Junior Seau and is now excited to be closer to her New Orleans Saints. As well as a beginning homebrewer, she is eager to explore the new local breweries. You can also find her and her husband at just about every renaissance fair in Texas and the surrounding states where she has taken a love for history and fantasy to the real world.

Matt
Manager and Technician
Matt comes from an animal loving family where he grew up raising and showing 4-H animals from rabbits and pigs to lambs and horses. He has always had a dog and learned that he had a true love for cats when he bonded to his first cat Baxter in 1998. (Baxter lived to 21 years of age!). Wildland fire fighting and managing his own fire crew gave him great management experience where he had to manage several people in stressful and potentially life threatening situations. Matt left the job he loved to finish his college degree in Criminal Justice. He spent three years working and managing a veterinary boarding facility where he learned what it took to run a boarding facility as well as picking up some technician skills. Matt is now our bookeeper, Mr Fix It, tech assistant and boarding kennel manager.
