We are operating a curbside-only service. For the safety of all parties, no clients will be allowed in the hospital at this time. Please call us when you arrive at the parking lot and we will provide further instructions.
We are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization, and the City of Austin. We are, of course, doing deep cleanings as well as taking extra precautions to frequently sanitize handles, knobs, benches, etc. We are asking sick staff members and clients to please stay home.
We have established the following guidelines and are offering the following enhanced services:
1) If you have concerns about close contact, we are offering as an option that you can stay in your vehicle instead of coming in for an office visit. If you would like this service, please call and inform us from the parking lot. We will come outside and pick up your pet. The veterinarian or veterinary nurse will call you and discuss the examination. You can wait in your vehicle while we perform the necessary services and we will return your pet to you at the end of the examination.
2) If you are not sure if you need to be seen, you can ask for a phone video exam/consult with a veterinarian or veterinary nurse. You can call our office and someone will call you via Facetime where you can show them what is going on. Exam fee is the same as if you were here. If we are able to make a diagnosis, we can possibly recommend a treatment or prescription that you can pick up (which we can deliver to your vehicle in the parking lot). If we feel your animal needs a hands-on exam, we will make that recommendation. There will not be an additional fee if you ask you to come in.
3) If you are sick and your pet absolutely needs to be seen, we ask that you drop off your pet or ask a friend to come instead. If you are sick and dropping off, please call us from the parking lot and we will come retrieve your pet from your car. We will be wearing a mask and gloves, we will remove your pet’s collar and hand it back to you.
4) We have cut back on our fit in appointments as we can’t have people waiting in the lobby. We are fortunate that are rooms and lobby allow for the 6 feet recommended space between people. Drop off appointments are still available
At this time pets are not getting sick from Coronavirus. In Hong Kong they cultured out the virus but the dogs and cats weren’t getting sick and so far it is thought that pets are an unlikely to pass the virus to people although there is always a possibility that the virus could be on their leashes and collars. The virus could be on their fur but it is far more likely to pass from smooth surfaces such as door handles and counters.
We are staying open and will be here if your pet gets sick. We do have a full supply of medications available for refills.
We will keep you updated as we closely monitor the situation. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
